Not Like Other Girls

I heard you say you listen to Nirvana,

and your childhood dream was to become a racecar driver.

Well, I listen to rock music and drive a fast car.

Why don’t you talk to me?

I saw you look at the pretty goth girl

with ripped tights and black lipstick and say she’s hot.

Well, I’ve ripped up my stockings and spent my last five bucks on black lipstick.

Why don’t you think I’m hot?

I heard you say you liked girls who weren’t afraid to nerd out,

like a girl who knew every charact

er in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Well, I’ve memorised almost every character in the franchise.

Why won’t you listen to me?

I saw you sneaking a glance at the speed dating poster,

no doubt thinking you’d find someone your type there.

Well, I’m everything you could ever want in a girl.

So why won’t you love me?
