It was a horrible afternoon.
It had been 2 weeks since that horrible afternoon. Today was a nice afternoon.
The botanical gardens were beautiful but that didn’t help; it didn’t even matter. He could only feel broken. He was sure a strong breeze would unravel him.
The botanical gardens were just as beautiful as the last time he visited. He felt stronger this time. He had re-weaved himself together.
The sun was setting and the daylight was slowly sinking. The darkness would take its place.
The sun was setting, the daylight was slowly fading, but it'd be back.
He felt hollowed out, barely human.

Before he felt hollowed out, barely human. Now, he felt human again. What once felt like a bare framework of sticks now feels like a stuffed scarecrow.
The many people wandering around the gardens only exemplified the loneliness. They were strangers, and they all had others. He was alone.
The many people wandering around him were all united in the same purpose, to watch the setting sun. It made him feel less alone. Even if the people around him were strangers, they all agreed on one thing—this was a good place to watch the sun set.
Even if there was beauty in the sunset, it was going away. And then he’d suffer through the night alone with his thoughts.
The sunset was beautiful and as twilight emerged, he was happy that this beauty would come again tomorrow. And the night would be illuminated by the lights that brought light to the coming darkness.
The sun was setting and then the darkness would fill his world again.
The sun was setting and the darkness would take its place. But the sun would rise again and then set again. There was beauty in the setting sun and he wanted to watch it again.
He wished he could go back to the time where he didn’t feel this weak—like a sapling about to be blown away. The present was pain, the past would be a relief.
Everyone wished they could go back in time. Even now, he felt the same, but the pain had become the past. What was the present had become the past and the pain was part of that.
Even if the past could never be reclaimed, the future would become his present. It could hold many pains but it could also bring much relief.
